Paid plans include usage of the open source Crypto Library and cloud key management service. Access to the Virgil Security Cards Service is provided through a monthly subscription and is priced on the number of users registered in your application.

Is access to the open source Crypto Library free?
Our Crypto Library and SDKs are open source to ensure transparent security, but the essence of a strong end-to-end encryption system is how the keys are generated and stored. Virgil Security's value is in how effortless we make this for developers. With Virgil Security  local private key generation, public key lookup, multi-device lookup, group chat, and other functionalities that most applications require.

Monthly or annual pricing tiers are available.

This provides the encryption algorithms, but doesn’t generate or manage the key pairs necessary for asymmetric end-to-end encryption. 

Each key pair generated for a user is known as a Card, and monthly pricing is based on the number of Cards your application has. 

Our popular e3kit SDK abstracts all of this so that all you really need to track is number of registered users in your application. Users can be deleted as needed.

Access to the Virgil Security Cards Service is provided through a monthly subscription and is priced on the number of users registered in your application.

As outlined on the Pricing page, there are four tiers:

  1. 0-250 users: Free
  2. 250-5,000 users: $99/month
  3. 5,000-100,000 users: $0.019/month per user
