Many healthcare companies use Virgil Security’s end-to-end encryption tools to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act’s (HIPAA) requirements around data security and user privacy, and are curious whether they should sign a BAA with Virgil Security.

Virgil Security will sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)* with customers in the Enterprise pricing tier, which starts with 100k active keys at $1900/month.

Some of our customers do not see Virgil Security as handling PHI because we only provide the encryption and key management functions without seeing any of the PHI. It is up to each customer to determine whether they’d like Virgil Security to sign a BAA by consulting with legal counsel.

If you’d like us to sign a BAA, please email us at [email protected] to begin the process.

*A BAA is a legal document that is signed with the vendor who might have access to protected health information (PHI).
