Everything you upload to Programmable Chat is accessible to Twilio as a company (and their cloud service provider AWS), in their database and on their frontend and backend servers.
Our tech client-side encrypts your users’ messages and files, so Twilio won’t have access to it, and you won’t have access to it either (so you can’t accidentally breach it out).
Our chat enables you to implement end-to-end encrypted chat like WhatsApp. You can still use Twilio to deliver messages, but those messages will only be decrypted by the end-users using their on-device keys.
